Tucson Water rate increase, public encouraged to comment
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now)- Tucson Water says it is balancing a number of issues, creating fair rates, encouraging conservation and keeping the same revenue coming in; as a result of these issues water bills will go up.
There are three options on the table. For the regular user the increase could be anywhere from $2.91 to $3.69 a month. The final decision comes later this month, but only after public feedback.
Part of the process is explaining the rate hike and talking with the public; that is what is happening tonight at an open house at the Quincie-Douglas Library (at 36th and Kino). There are two more open houses next week.
Tucson Water says the public doesn't need to be there to comment.
