Click and Peebles Holiday Challenge for the Community Food Bank | Community Spirit

The Click Family Foundation and Jim and Sandy Peebles has said they will match online monetary gifts to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 to help families, children and seniors that are in need this holiday season.  The dollar-for-dollar match will last until December 31, to help make up a donation shortfall and a 10 percent increase in requests for help that have occurred over last year.

The community is asked to meet the Click and Peebles Holiday Challenge by making a donation online to www.communityfoodbank.org.

For every $1 donated, the Community Food Bank can distribute nearly $9 worth of food or over four meals.  Last year, the Food Bank distributed over 27 million pounds of food, enough for 62,800 meals every day. 

Also remember before the end of the year... Arizona’s charitable tax credit law allows for a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on contributions to the Community Food Bank, available to anyone who itemizes on their state return.  Taxpayers filing as “single” and “head of household” status may claim a maximum credit of $200. Taxpayers that file as “married filing jointly” may claim a maximum credit of $400.  Taxpayers filing as “married filing separately” may claim a maximum credit of $200.  Donors have until Monday, December 31, to meet the requirements.
