Salvation Army Toy Assistance for those in need is this weekend | Events
Tucson’s largest pre-registered toy assistance program for families in need will have a ONE DAY PRE-REGISTRATION Ticket Distribution. People needing assistance with toys or clothing for their children this year will need to be at the Ticket Distribution on Saturday to receive a ticket for their family which will provide them with an appointment date and time, as well as application instructions of the needed information to bring to their scheduled appointment.
Beginning at 8am, November 17 at the Hospitality House Shelter Parking Lot, 1021 N. 11th Ave., The Salvation Army will begin distributing tickets to people hoping to apply for toy assistance this holiday. The Salvation Army will issue 1,550 Pre-Registration tickets. One ticket per household. Tickets will be issued beginning at 8a.m. on a first-come, first serve basis.
When tickets are out, they are out. They anticipate all tickets will be gone by noon. With only 1550 tickets being distributed on Saturday, people are expected to line up early to get a chance to apply for help.
There is limited space and they will do their best to accommodate the early attendees. The Salvation Army is also asking that participants line up no sooner than 5a.m.
Those in need of toy assistance may learn more about Saturday’s Ticket Disbursement by calling the automated phone line, 792-1629.
The Salvation Army would like to add that during the application process will include an opportunity to learn about additional educational and job resources, as well as, multiple choices to sign-up for a volunteer opportunity to give back to the community. Rather a hand-up approach rather than a hand-out in order to give back to the community.
