City of Tucson wins Distinguished Budget Presentation Award | News

Tucson receives an award from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for their budget.

The City has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.  

This award reflects a commitment to meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting.  In order to qualify the City’s budget met nationally recognized guidelines, which are designed to assess how well a budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, operations guide, and communications device.   As an award recipient, the City’s budget serves as an example of excellence to other governments across North America. 

“Congratulations go to Director Marie Nemerguth and her staff in Budget and Internal Audit,” said City Chief Financial Officer and Assistant City Manager Kelly Gottschalk, in a recent news release.  “This award is a significant achievement and a testament to their hard work and professionalism.”
