TUCSON, AZ (KOLD) - Your neighbor could be one, your coworker or even your own mother. Some say they are Doomsday or conspiracy theorists. They say they are just regular folks, with one exception.

"If the power or water got shut off after five days, which is not out of the realm of possibility, I wouldn't be leaving my house because it's going to be pandemonium, people are not going to be prepared," said Low Buck Prepper.

Report of small hail at DM Thursday morning

A powerful early morning monsoon storm moved across Tucson.  While the storm was not severe, winds did cause some damage.  The Tucson National Weather Service said it was "likely" a microburst.

There was a 39 MPH wind gust recorded at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base.

A viewer at DM also reported small hail. 

Explosions may be heard on Ft. Huachuca

Explosions may be heard on Ft. Huachuca Friday, but it should be no cause for alarm, officials said.

An explosive ordinance disposal team from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson will dispose of the dynamite, which is located inside a K-9 scent kit, Ft. Huachuca Media Relations Officer Tanja M. Linton said.

The detonation will take place behind the Fort's Ammunition Supply Point at approximately 9:30 a.m., Linton said.

Security contractor shoots himself at Border Patrol HQ

(KOLD) - A worker for a Border Patrol contractor shot himself Wednesday morning at the agency's headquarters at Davis-Monthan AFB.

The worker has been moved to a nearby hospital with non life-threatening injuries, Tucson Police spokesman Sgt. Matt Ronstadt said.

Details surrounding the accident were not immediately available. The man works for a Border Patrol contractor called Wackenhut Security.

Wackenhut is a subsidiary of British-based security giant G4S PLC. According to its website, the Border Patrol contract they're under is worth $250 million over five years.
